Christian Dior Amethyst Crystal Necklace and Earrings

A flat snake chain carrying a bezel-set emerald-cut crystal in deep amethyst, flanked by two small round stones and a pair of polished gold rondelles. The bezels are closed and the settings clean, which is why the colour reads as saturated rather than sparkly. The earrings repeat the centre stone at full size, clip fitting, half an inch.

Signed with the CD charm on the extender chain. The earrings carry the Chr. Dior copyright stamp. Supplied with the original Dior box and jewellery card.

Purple is the hardest colour to get right in costume jewellery, and this one avoids the usual problem of reading as plum or as grape. It sits close to true amethyst.

Adjustable from 16 to 18 inches on the extender.
