Vintage Gold-Plated Sterling Silver Openwork Teardrop Drop Earrings

A round openwork stud topped with a ring of gold beads, and below it, on a short chain, a large teardrop whose centre is cut away into a honeycomb of gold, edged with the same beads. The teardrop is slightly domed, so it catches the light on the solid rim and lets it through the lattice.

These are statement drops with real presence and weight, in the warm, slightly matte gold of plated silver. They move with you, and they need nothing else on the neckline.

925 sterling silver with gold plating, marked 925. Length about 2.25 inches (5.7 cm), width about 1 inch (2.5 cm), weight about 18.9 g. Post backs for pierced ears.
