Vintage Czech Art Deco Blue Glass Rivière Choker, Silver Tone
An Art Deco rivière from Czechoslovakia, dating to the 1920s or 1930s. Twelve emerald-cut glass stones in a light sapphire blue run in one unbroken line, each claw-set in a silver-tone filigree frame with geometric open-back collets. Light passes through the stones from every side, so the blue moves from a soft, watery cornflower to a deep jewel tone as you move.
Each panel is linked on its own, so the choker lies smoothly and flexibly along the neckline. It closes with an integrated box clasp. A fine example of interwar Bohemian costume jewellery, for a collector or as a single statement at the collar.
Total length approx. 14 inches. Total weight 43 grams. Origin Czechoslovakia, unmarked.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition according to the seller. The silver-tone borders carry an aged patina. All 12 glass stones are securely set. Under magnification the glass shows very light surface wear and minor flea bites on the facet edges. Several jump rings show a brassy tone, likely from plating wear. The box clasp snaps shut tightly and holds securely. The piece is unmarked.
One only. Once it's gone, it's gone.
Care: Store separately in the pouch provided. Avoid perfume and water contact.
