Vintage Brushed Gold Tone Faux Pearl and Aurora Borealis Crystal Necklace, Bracelet and Clip-On Earrings Set, Attributed to Crown Trifari

Three pieces in the same language: ribbons of brushed, engraved gold cross over rows of cream faux pearls and faceted aurora borealis crystal beads, so every link is a little X of gold holding a cluster of pearl and rainbow light. The necklace and bracelet run the pattern end to end; the earrings fold it into a rosette of leaves with the beads at the centre.

Pearls with crystal is the classic bridal and evening mix, and a full parure is rare: most sets of this age survive as a necklace alone. Wear all three for a wedding, or split them, the bracelet with a watch on a working day, the earrings with a plain white shirt. The brushed finish keeps the gold soft rather than flashy.

Unsigned; attributed to Crown Trifari. Brushed gold-tone metal with faux pearls and crystal glass beads. Necklace 18 in (46 cm) with 3.5 in (9 cm) of adjustment, 0.75 in (1.9 cm) wide, hook closure. Bracelet 7.25 in (18.5 cm) long, 0.625 in (1.6 cm) wide. Earrings 1.25 in (3.2 cm), clip-on for unpierced ears. Mid-20th century. The box in the photos is not included.

Condition: Good vintage condition with minor age-related wear. No missing or replaced beads or pearls; a few pearls are lightly discoloured. Most of the stones are bright. All clasps work.
