Vintage Art Deco Iris Glass Bead and Rhinestone Bar Collar Necklace, Gold Tone

Faceted iris glass beads, clear with swirls of blue, pink and green caught inside the glass, run in a single row at the back and open into two rows across the front. Seven curved gold-tone bars, each set with a line of clear rhinestones, hold the two rows apart like the rungs of a ladder.

The colour inside the beads shifts with the light, from icy blue to lilac and pale rose, so the necklace reads soft from a distance and busy up close. It sits high and flat at the base of the neck, which makes it a strong match for an open neckline or a plain dark dress.
