Vintage 1980s Jewel-Tone Cabochon and Black Enamel Hoop Drop Clip-On Earrings, Gold Plated

A hammered gold dome set with a red, two blue and a green cabochon, and below it a twisted-rope hoop holding a black enamel diamond with a single white pearl bead at its centre. The hoop is open, so the diamond hangs in gold-framed air.

These are 1980s runway earrings in the Byzantine mood: primary-colour cabochons on beaten gold, a rope hoop, black enamel and one pearl. Big in presence, light in spirit.

Unbranded. Yellow gold plated, nickel-free, made in the United States in the 1980s per the seller, with lucite, acrylic and enamel elements. Clip-on closure. About 3 inches (7.6 cm) long and 1.75 inches (4.4 cm) wide.

Condition: Pre-owned, graded Excellent by the seller, with minor to no signs of wear on the detailed metal.
