Christian Dior Vintage 1980s Signed Faux Pearl Tassel Clip-On Earrings with Red, Blue and Green Glass Drops, Gold Tone

A large faux pearl button sits on the ear above a gold cap ringed with rhinestones, and from it fall three strands of small pearls, each broken by gold spacers and finished with a rhinestone rondelle and a smooth glass bead in emerald green, sapphire blue or ruby red. The three colours together are the Mogul palette Dior borrowed from Indian jewels.

They move with every turn of the head, which is the whole point of a tassel earring. Long enough to carry an evening look on their own, and the pearl keeps them soft rather than loud. Wear them with the hair up and nothing at the neck.

Signed Christian Dior. Gold-tone metal with faux pearls, rhinestones and red, blue and green glass beads. Almost 3.25 in (8.3 cm) long. Clip-on for unpierced ears. Made in France, 1980s.

Condition: Excellent vintage condition, previously worn.
