Carolee Vintage 1980s Panther on a Blue Enamel Ball Brooch, Gold Tone

A panther pavé-set with clear rhinestones and spotted with blue, green-eyed, crouching on top of a large sphere of deep blue enamel, its long tail curling down the side. The back is textured gold tone with a bar pin and the Carolee cartouche.

An homage to the famous Cartier panther, and a faithful one: the same big cat, the same ball, in American costume jewellery of the 1980s. It makes a statement on a jacket lapel or at the shoulder of a dress.

Signed CAROLEE © on the back. Gold-tone base metal with clear and blue rhinestones, green rhinestone eyes and blue enamel. About 2 1/4 by 1 1/4 inches (5.7 by 3.2 cm). Dates to the 1980s.

Condition: Excellent, with shiny plating and sparkling stones.
