Butterfly Enamel Pearl Stud Earrings, Gold Tone

A pair of butterfly studs with wings painted by hand in swirling blue and chartreuse enamel. The colours blend like watercolour across scalloped, veined edges, and a fine line of clear rhinestones along the top of each wing catches the light. Below the wings hangs a round, bright white pearl with a high lustre, which softens all that colour.

This is a modern piece made in a vintage-inspired style. It is not a vintage item. The base is copper alloy with gold electroplating in a warm, bright gold tone, and the earrings fasten with push-back stud posts. Each pair is hand-painted, so the enamel pattern varies slightly from pair to pair.
